Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and CodeVoy governing your use of the CodeVoy platform at app.codvoy.com and this website. CodeVoy is operated from Ethiopia. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use CodeVoy.
Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use the platform, and if you are under the age of majority in your country, only with a parent or guardian’s involvement. You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your account credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
Access and Payments
Prices are shown in Ethiopian Birr (ETB). Payments are confirmed manually:
- After you submit a payment reference or screenshot, we verify it and grant access — usually within a few hours.
- Access to purchased courses and content is for your personal, non-transferable use.
- AI credits and similar consumables are non-refundable and non-transferable, and are spent as you use paid features.
- All sales are final and all payments are non-refundable. Once access is granted we do not offer refunds, except in the rare case where we are unable to deliver the service you paid for. This does not affect any rights you may have under applicable Ethiopian consumer law.
AI Features
The platform includes AI-powered features that generate code, text, images, and suggestions. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected — you are responsible for reviewing and testing anything you rely on or publish. AI features consume AI credits and may be rate-limited or changed over time.
Your Content and Published Sites
You keep ownership of the projects, code, and websites you create in the playground. To operate the service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, host, display, and serve your content — including publicly serving any site you choose to publish. You are responsible for everything you publish and confirm that you have the rights and any necessary consent to use it.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Publish or share content that is illegal, infringing, deceptive, hateful, or otherwise harmful.
- Publish other people's personal information without their consent.
- Infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the platform.
- Resell, redistribute, or share paid course content, or circumvent access controls and payment.
- Use the AI features to generate abusive, illegal, or infringing material.
Our Intellectual Property
The CodeVoy platform, course videos, lesson materials, templates, and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to access purchased content for your own learning and use. You may not copy, redistribute, or resell it.
Certificates
Certificates issued by CodeVoy recognize completion of course requirements on our platform. They are not accredited academic degrees or professional qualifications, and we may verify or revoke a certificate obtained through error or abuse.
Challenges, Rewards, and Prizes
CodeVoy runs challenges and competitions that may award XP, badges, AI credits, or cash prizes. Eligibility, rules, judging, and payout are at our discretion and may be adjusted to keep competitions fair. We may withhold rewards where we detect cheating, fraud, or rule violations.
Termination
You may stop using CodeVoy and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the platform in a way that harms other users or us. Some sections — such as content licenses for sites already published, payment records, and disclaimers — survive termination.
Disclaimers
CodeVoy is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will lead to any particular income, job, or freelancing outcome. Your results depend on your own effort.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeVoy and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or opportunities arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and any disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Ethiopia.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. We will update the “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
Language
These Terms are provided in English and Amharic. If there is any conflict between the two versions, the English version governs.
