For Ethiopians ready to change careers

Your salary has a ceiling.
Freelancing does not.

You don't need a Computer Science degree. You don't need to be "a tech person." You need real skills, a mentor who's done it, and a room full of people on the same path. That's what Codvoy is.

The honest comparison

Two different lives.
You choose.

This isn't about judging a stable job. It's about knowing there's another way — one that thousands of Ethiopians are already living.

The salary path

Waiting for the 30th

  • Same salary every month — no matter how hard you work
  • 8 hours at a desk, then an hour of traffic home
  • Income falls behind inflation every year
  • Promotion depends on who likes you, not what you can do
  • Can't afford to travel, save in USD, or plan for family

The freelance path

Choose your month

  • Charge what you're worth — raise rates as you grow
  • Work from home, a café, or back home in your kebele
  • Earn in US dollars — a natural hedge against inflation
  • Your skills, not connections, decide your next job
  • Save, invest, send money home, travel — on your terms

My story

“I was you.
So I built the thingI wished existed.”

Before Codvoy, I spent 3+ years working in printing and advertising here in Addis — banners, business cards, flyers, the whole thing. On a good month I cleared around 20,000 Birr. It was steady, but the ceiling was the ceiling. No matter how many long days I worked, the number didn't really move.

I started teaching myself to code at night. Half the tutorials were in accents I couldn't follow. I made every mistake you can make. It took years — but eventually I crossed $50,000 on Upwork, working with clients who paid in dollars from offices I'll probably never visit.

Codvoy is the shortcut I wish I had. Someone who speaks your language. A room full of people doing the same thing. The real techniques, not the YouTube-tutorial version.

The receipts

This isn't a motivational pitch.
It's $50,000 in cleared Upwork earnings.

I built Codvoy after I'd already proven the playbook worked for myself. Every technique I teach is one I used to close real projects for clients in the US, UK, and Germany.

The same path. The same clients. The same payouts — now with me as your guide.

What you're probably thinking

The worries, answered honestly.

Every student who joins has asked at least one of these. Here's the truth — no marketing spin.

I've never coded in my life. Will I be left behind?

The entire first month is designed for someone who has never opened a code editor. Most of my students come from non-technical fields — accounting, teaching, nursing, hospitality. If you can use a laptop and follow instructions, you can do this.

5,000 ETB is a lot of money for me right now.

I hear this every week — and I respect it. You can pay in two installments of 2,500 ETB, two weeks apart. Your access doesn't expire — take as long as you need, come back whenever you want.

What if I finish and still don't get a client?

My commitment: you keep access for good. Keep the courses. Keep coming to the weekly group Zoom calls. Keep the community. I don't put a timer on your journey — different people move at different speeds, and that's fine.

The honest comparison

I know what else is out there.
Here's the truth.

YouTube is free. Udemy is cheap. freeCodeCamp is excellent. So why does Codvoy exist? Because none of them answer the one question that matters: who is actually helping you, in your language, when you get stuck?
